Joe has spent his whole life being told he is less than. Less than human. Less than holy. Less than worthy.

As a goblin in the Sovenreign Empire, his choices have always been simple: die in someone else’s war, break his back in a mine, or scrape coin from the jobs no-one else will take. When word reaches him of a wild frontier where every blade is welcome, Joe takes his twin swords & sails for the Heartlands Expanse - a savage, untamed continent of jungle, dinosaurs, & ancient ruin. But the Heartlands are hiding something old. Something hungry. Logging parties are vanishing. The dead are rising from the earth, their empty sockets burning with a cold blue light. Scattered across the jungle floor lie the pieces of a secret so dangerous that the gods themselves buried it - a truth about Aeorn’s past that the Empire’s church would burn cities to keep silent. Thrown together with an exiled ved princess on the run from her own people, a janqua huntress on a sacred coming-of-age walk far from home, & a young druid who talks to plants & can turn into a raptor, Joe finds himself chasing a mystery deeper than any of them bargained for. One that leads not merely to the ruins of a lost civilization, but toward something vast & nameless sealed beyond the edges of the universe - something that has been waiting, patient & ravenous, for a very, very long time.

Beneath a Starless Sky is a character-driven adventure about the outcasts who try to save a world that never asked for them. It is a story about found family forged in mud & bone, about the lies that hold empires together, & about what it means to be treated as less than - & choose to be so much more. Above the planet Aeorn, the sky holds no stars. Only the dark. But the dark is not empty.

Characters: Joe - A goblin mercenary who has spent his whole life being told he is less than, and is beginning to suspect they might all be wrong. Nesta - An exiled ved princess and former mage, running from her past and toward a truth that could shake the foundations of the empire that cast her out. Etiti - A janqua huntress on her sacred coming-of-age walk, far from home and discovering that the world beyond her tribe is stranger and more wonderful than she ever imagined. Nikita - A gentle druid who talks to plants, turns into a raptor, and somehow remains the most optimistic person in any room. Penny - A young priestess searching for meaning whose courage and kindness leave a mark on everyone she meets. And then there's the sword...

The World of Aeorn: Aeorn is a world of ancient secrets and uneasy empires, where the sky holds no stars and the darkness above is anything but empty. The ruins of a civilisation long fallen lie scattered across its continents — remnants of a past that the powerful would sooner forget and the curious would die to understand. The Sovenreign Empire spreads its influence across the known world, its church carefully controlling what ordinary people are permitted to know, while beyond its borders the wild and savage Heartlands Expanse stretches endlessly — a continent of dense jungle, ancient ruin, roaming dinosaurs, and mysteries that have waited centuries to be uncovered. Three systems of magic shape the lives of those who wield them — the divine Circle magic of the gods, the living druidic magic of the natural world, and the rare and dangerous weave magic that few truly understand. It is a world with more history than anyone alive can remember, more secrets than any empire can contain, and more waiting in the dark than anyone has yet dared to imagine.

Themes & Tone: Beneath a Starless Sky is, at its heart, a story about belonging. It asks what it means to be told you are less than — less than human, less than holy, less than worthy — and what it takes to choose to be something more. It is a story of found family forged in mud and bone, of unlikely companions who have no business trusting each other and no choice but to do so anyway. It is also a story about power — who holds it, who is crushed by it, and the lies that empires tell themselves to justify both. The world of Aeorn is one where history has been buried, truth has been weaponised, and ordinary people pay the price for the ambitions of the extraordinary. Tonally, the novel balances genuine warmth and humour with real darkness and consequence. It is funny when it needs to be, heartbreaking when it earns it, and unafraid to let the world feel dangerous and the stakes feel real. Fans of character-driven fantasy who enjoy richly built worlds, morally complex situations, and stories where the smallest and most overlooked characters turn out to matter the most will feel right at home in Aeorn. This is not a story where the chosen one saves the world. It is a story about the people nobody chose — and what happens when they decide to show up anyway.
